Daughters of St. Paul celebrated
their Jubilees

We extend our heartfelt best wishes to the sisters who
are celebrating their Diamond, Golden and Silver Jubilees.

Sr. Aparecida and Bishop Jerry Kicanas (celebrant)
Sr. Aparecida has been a Daughter of St. Paul for 60 years, and
she has spent 51 of those years here in our American Province. She
was sent here from Brazil by our co-foundress, Mother Thecla. And
today, Sr. Aparecida who at the age of 83 has the heart of a young
woman, and who can still skip down a hallway, continues to be engaged
in our ministry in the house and bookcenter of Staten Island, New
York.
Sr. Germana, our Provincial, in her words at the end of the Liturgy,
said to Sr. Aparecida, "You are a great example for us of total
dedication, love and joy in religious life. And we say to you, in
Portuguese, obrigada pela sua vida! (Thank you for your life!)

Sr. Mary Domenica (left) and Sr. Mary Joan (right) "Sr. Mary
Domenica and Sr. Mary Joan, your 50 years of religious life have
been filled with generosity, love for our mission, and complete
dedication to the Divine Master. We all thank you" (Sr. Germana,
provincial).

Sr. Mary Joan came to the United States from Italy as a very young
religious, only 6 months after making her first vows. In November
of this year she celebrates her 50th anniversary of coming
to the United States.

Sr. Mary Domenica came to the United States in November of 1966
and joined the rest of her family which had preceded her by 14 years.
Even after these many years, she is true to the roots of her warm
and beautiful city of Naples, Italy.

"To the four silver Jubilarians, Sr. Armanda, Sr. Diane, Sr.
Mary Frances and Sr. Margaret Josephour hearts are filled
with gratitude for you, not only for these past 25 years, but for
the enthusiasm and selflessness that you show presently, as you
continue to be fully engaged in our apostolate of communications.
We, your sisters, love you and accompany you on this adventure of
the Pauline life." (Sr. Germana, provincial)

"Our mission is to share the Gospel with the media. Today
we know that the greatest media these sisters have used, or will
ever use to share the Gospel is their very life of consecration.
In binding themselves to Christ they have found the greatest liberation.
Our sisters are mystics whose presence here tells us that God is
with us at all times, and that he cares for us always." (Sr.
Germana, provincial)
