"Abroad" is not all that far away
Sr. Tracey Matthia's Perpetual Profession Celebration

The sisters arrive South Louisiana, a.k.a. Cajun Country!

We arrived one week before the day of profession so that the community could get to know the sisters. We hoped that all the events of the week would create the space in which the Lord could speak to the hearts of his people. We had special times of prayer with families and prayer groups where we prayed in a special way for vocations.

The weekend was filled with activity. The sisters provided books, music and videos for purchase at three area parishes while I shared my vocation story with the people of my home parish at the weekend Masses. Many parishioners commented how happy they were to finally hear what made me decide to become a sister. There was also a parish fair where the sisters helped out and even painted faces!
