Rest Awhile and Be Consoled
Pray over words of Christ and Scripture.
Psalm 122
I
rejoiced when they said to me:
"We will go to the house of the LORD."
Our feet still are standing
within your gates, Jerusalem,
the Jerusalem rebuilt
as a city which has been structured as a whole,
where, by a rule given to Israel,
the tribes go up-the tribes of the LORD,
to praise the name of the LORD.
For it was there that people sat in judgment upon thrones,
the thrones of the house of David.
Pray for the wholeness of Jerusalem:
"May they live happily who love you."
May peace be within your walls;
peace within your palaces.
For the sake of my brothers and companions,
let me say: "Peace be within you."
For the sake of the house of the LORD our God,
let me pray for what is good for you.
