Director
Sister Rose Pacatte, FSP , is the founding director of the Pauline Center for Media Studies. She has been a member of the Daughters of St. Paul (www.daughtersofstpaul.com) since 1967. Sr. Rose has experience in book publishing, marketing, 16mm film, television, and radio production and writing for these media. She has an MA in Education in Media Studies from the Institute of Education at the University of London, UK, a Certificate in Pastoral Communications from the University of Dayton, and a Diploma in Catechetics. Sr. Rose is the co-author, with Fr. Peter Malone, MSH, of the Lights, Camera…Faith! Movie Lectionary series (www.pauline.org) and Lights, Camera…Faith! The Ten Commandments (www.pauline.org). She has been the film and TV columnist for St. Anthony Messenger since June 2003 (www.americancatholic.org) and is the media consultant for Homiletics (www.HomileticsOnline.com). She also contributes film essays to The Tidings, the newspaper of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles (www.the-tidings.org). She is also a facilitator and media curriculum developer for the University of Dayton’s Institute for Pastoral Initiatives’ online Virtual Learning Community (www.udayton.edu/~ipi) and teaches media and pastoral communications at the Institute’ summer program. Rose is a member of Catholics in Media Associates, Catholic Communicators of Southern California, the Religious Communicators Council, the Alliance for a Media Literate America and the Catholic Academy for Communication Arts Professionals. She has served on Catholic and ecumenical juries at Venice, Berlin, and Locarno Film Festivals, as well as a jury at the Newport Beach Film Festival in 2006. Sister Nancy Usslemann, FSP , has a BA in Communications Arts/Business Management from Emmanuel College, Boston, MA. She has worked in the areas of evangelization, formation, administration, and communications for nearly 20 years and currently is the manager of the Pauline Books & Media Center in East Midtown Manhattan, NY and Edison, NJ. She has given numerous workshops, presentations, and retreats to pre-teens, youth, young adults, and seminarians, candidates for religious life and media /performing arts professionals on various topics related to spirituality, media education, vocations, and catechesis. Sr. Nancy has served in various capacities within her community’s ministry: Manager, Assistant Administrator, Accountant, Local Councilor, Coordinator of Events, Co-chairperson of 4 Spirituality Conferences, Coordinator of 2002 Toronto World Youth Day Catechesis Site, Director of Pastoral Outreach programs, Radio Production & Engineering, Book center Evangelization, Marketing and Purchasing, Local Vocation Director and Local Director of Lay Pauline Cooperators. Nancy is a member of AMLA, the Alliance for a Media Literate America (www.amlaionfo.org).

Sister Helena Burns, FSP has a BA in Theology from St. John’s University, New York and has a background in media literacy and faith formation. Helena is currently the regional vocation director for the Daughters of St. Paul. She gives presentations on media literacy, and media and philosophy to young people. She is a member of the Alliance for a Media Literate America (www.amlainfo.org).

Sister Hosea Marie Rupprecht, FSP , holds a Masters of Theological Studies from the University of St. Michael’s College in Toronto. She also has a Certificate in Pastoral Communications from the University of Dayton. Hosea is currently the manager of Pauline Books and Media in Toronto. She prepares the monthly film review for My Friend, A Catholic Magazine for Kids and was guest editor for the award-winning annual media issue in 2005. Over the past 10 years, she has facilitated various film dialogues for both children and adults. She has also initiated a monthly movie night for Pauline Books and Media according to Lights, Camera, Faith! A Movie Lectionary, in Toronto. Hosea is a member of the Association for Media Literacy in Toronto, ARCCC (Association of Roman Catholic Communicators of Canada; www.arccc.ca) and the Alliance for a Media Literate America (www.amlainfo.org). Closest to Hosea’s heart is helping people better understand the liturgy of the church using popular media as a starting point.
Sister Marie Paul Curley, FSP , has a B.A. in Communications from Emmanuel College ( Boston), and in 2001 successfully completed Act One: Writing for Hollywood—an intensive month-long program that trains Christian screenwriters with a focus on artistry, professionalism, substance and prayer. She is currently writing a children's feature film and is a member of ARCCC (Association of Roman Catholic Communicators of Canada; www.arccc.ca) and the New England Screenwriting Alliance. From 1996-2003, Marie Paul was the video producer for Pauline Books & Media, and has produced numerous programs for Catholic home video, many of which have also been broadcast on Catholic stations around the U.S. and Canada. Marie Paul has published two books with Pauline Books & Media: Life for the World—A Way of Eucharistic Adoration for Today and Christ Lives in Me (www.pauline.org), an introductory compilation of quotations of Blessed James Alberione, the founder of the Daughters of Saint Paul. With Sr. Madonna Ratliff, FSP, she has just completed editing a prayer book entitled, Bread of Life—Prayers for Eucharistic Adoration (www.pauline.org) released in 2004. She co-hosted one of the prayer-sites at World Youth Day 2002 in Toronto, and gives workshops on the Eucharist and Pope John Paul II's encyclical letter, Ecclesia de Eucharistia as well as spirituality and film and assists parishes, schools, and groups to find resources to help them teach and live their faith more fully.
