What is Cine&Media?

Cine&Media in an online community in dialogue about theology, spirituality and cinema.

Members "chat" about many contingent issues as well, such as film reviews, film festivals, the international, inter-religious and ecumenical dimensions of cinema, media literacy education, culture and values, the information and entertainment industries and professions, economics, and sometimes even politics.

You are welcome to join our conversation. The only "rules" are

• Mutual respect for one another's opinions

• Focus on our purpose

The moderator of the group is Rose Pacatte, FSP, Director of the Pauline Center for Media Studies, Boston.

Cine&Media Online Community was begun under the auspices of the membership group "Cine&Media", the US Affiliate of the International Catholic Organization for Cinema (O.C.I.C.)

In November, 2001, O.C.I.C. will merge with Unda World, the international Catholic organization for broadcast communications to form SIGNIS (http://www.signis.org).

We will keep you posted on the film component of SIGNIS in the U.S. as it becomes more defined, probably in October, 2002.
