Pushed to the Max! Dear Friend, Have you ever had one of those days when there was just too much to do? School gets hectic. Friends can ask you for tons of favors. It can seem like the whole world is expecting too much from you. There were times when I, too, felt the burden of a lot of demands being made on me. I remember one evening especially. It was after sunset. I had had a long day. Suddenly many people appeared outside the door. All of them had special problems. Some were very sick; others were troubled. Each face spoke to my heart. So I went to each person and helped them. Oh, I finally did get to bed. Caught a few hours of sleep. But the next morning I got up early to pray. I went to be alone with my Heavenly Father. I told him how tired I was, how my mission weighed on me. I closed my eyes and listened. He understood. I knew he loved me. He was always there! (See Mark 1:29-39.) When you feel over-booked and anxious and don’t know where to turn next, try talking things out with a parent. I can assure you, your Mom and Dad know lots about managing busy lives. Also, always remember I’m here for you. My heart is open to your heart. Your friend, Jesus
Quiet Place In your quiet place, close your eyes. Picture the story described. How would you feel as Jesus looked into your face? Tell him all that is bothering you today. Ask him to help you share this with your Mom or Dad. They want to know what’s going on in your life. They want to help.
