Against a Crooked Sky Against a Crooked Sky is about a loving and caring family in the Old West. The mother and father and their two teenage children Sam and Charlotte had a strong faith. Charlotte understood Jesus’ words: “You can have no greater love than to give your life for a friend.” Her brother couldn’t understand this until Charlotte was kidnapped. Her father went with a search party to find her. Sam, in desperation, even went to find her on his own, but neither found her. A year later Sam talked an old miner into going on a second search. They found Charlotte in the land that time forgot, Crooked Sky. Charlotte had been falsely accused of murdering an old warrior who had helped Sam and the miner find Crooked Sky. She had been sentenced to death. She tells Sam to go home and save his own life. But Sam insists that on taking her place. The Indian chief said the only way he could do this was to beat the sun by running a rugged rocky course at dawn. Sam knew it was nearly impossible, but his love for Charlotte came first. He asked God’s help as he ran with all his heart to take Charlotte’s place.
