God can be trusted because he is always the same. God is changeless.

A big word that means the same thing as changeless is immutable. This means that God is always the same and, well, he just never changes! He doesn’t get bigger or smaller. He can’t be better or worse. He doesn’t love us more one day and less the next. Who-he-is stays the same and always will. When God created the world and all that is in it, he didn’t become more powerful or smarter. His greatness doesn’t change. As humans, we change all the time. We grow up, we learn to do new things, and we even travel sometimes. Sometimes we feel good, other days we feel bad. Sometimes we are in a good mood, other times we are in a bad mood. Sometimes we are kind with our friends, and other times our stomach hurts, we are in a hurry or have a headache, and we can be mean to our friends instead. God however always loves us. His love for us and others never changes. From the moment he created the world, and you and me, he loved us. His love means that we are very special. His love will last for all eternity for each one of us. It will never change. If we believe that God loves us and never changes his mind, then we know we can trust God. We know exactly what God’s response will be when we pray to him: love. We know exactly what God will do when we sin: forgive us. We know exactly what God will do when we are in need: help. He has always been this way and he never ever changes.
