Jesus died on the cross, rose from the dead and went back to his Father in heaven. Come to find Jesus today in the

Eucharist

Jesus is present in the world today in many ways, but the Eucharist is where Jesus is most especially present. When you go to Mass, the priest says a special prayer that includes the words of Jesus from the Last Supper Jesus had with his apostles before he died, "This is the body. This is my blood." Through the power of God, Jesus becomes present in the Eucharist from the moment when the priest says those words. Even though we see only a small white host, that host only looks like a bread and tastes like bread. It is not bread but Jesus’ body and blood which is present in the Eucharist. This is not very easy to understand—in fact, it’s impossible to figure it out. It is something that Jesus told us was true, and we believe him. Many people have had a very strong experience of Jesus’ presence when they receive the Eucharist in Holy Communion. Jesus loved us and gave his life for us. But he wanted to stay in our midst until the end of the world, so that we could always find him. In the Eucharist he stays with us as the one who loves us and wants us to love him in return. Jesus waits for us to love him in the Eucharist. We can tell him that we love him when we receive Holy Communion and whenever we pray in Church.
